WinRAR 4.00 Beta 1 (32-bit) Shareware

WinRAR 4.00 Beta 1 (32-bit) Shareware

It is one of the most widely used data compression software available on both shareware and freeware basis with limited features. It was developed in 1995 by a Russian software engineer named Eugene Roshal who it coded in C++. The software is widely known for its unique and patent compression format of .rar.

A good feature of Winrar over Winzip is its .rar format. Winrar supports all formats including .zip format of Winzip and its own patent format, but Winzip does not support .rar format, which proved a breakthrough in the competition between Winrar and Winzip. It has a unique logo of books of three different colors tied together with a belt. On installing the software, it scans all the compressed files and changes its logo with its own.

The owner of Winrar is Rarlab who has released many versions of the software but the most popular and widely used version is 3.5, because it is light weight, easy to work with and it does not interfere when working. Another good reason of the popularity of 3.5 versions is its freeware benefit and it is easily available on the internet.

The company has recently released the 4.0 version with some upgrades keeping it light weight and still easy to use. The Winrar software has also received numerous awards in different categories. Few of the most popular awards includes the Best Product, Download of the Year, Editor’s Pick, Top Download in different years and 5 Star software awards by different companies and online magazines.
